Re: 1972 LT-1 Carburator
I am working from memory -- and I shouldn't do that, but my references are at home.
The very late 1972 LT1s used the later Holley and I think that is 6239-1A. I will have to look though and see just how late. I think there is something in the last revision of the 1970-72 TIM&JG on that subject. It might be worth while someone who has one to look it up.Terry- Top

Re: 1972 LT-1 Carburetor
Ok, I found the model number. I have Richard Prince's Corvette 68-72 Restoration Guide tucked away in my office. According to Appendix J; there is a single listing showing LT1 350/255, 4-speed; Holley R6239A GM # 3999263- Top

Re: 1972 LT-1 Carburetor
I think -- memory again -- that the R6239-1A was added to the TIM&JG in the last update, so Richard's information may be dated.Terry- Top

Re: 1972 LT-1 Carburetor
There are two listed in the TIM/JG;
Holley List 6239A front metering block 6828 and rear 4519
Holley List 6239A-1A front metering block 7102 and rear 7101
No mention of when the revision was made during the year. Only reference was with regard to the LS-6 List 4803.

Hi Martin,
Try contacting the Northeast Chapter's Judging Chairman, Drew Papsun (203-847-4678, apapsun@aol.com). He's especially knowledgeable and passionate about LT-1s, and may also have some ideas for you.

Re: 1972 LT-1 Carburator
Bryan, I care to comment as follows:
Look at the Holley sequencing system data. Holley used to, and I think still does, publish a parts list book, and an index of all their list numbers. One or both of those books explains their revision number system, and they do list the internal part numbers for the revisions in the parts book.
As best I remember: The first released version of a list number will be List XXXX. The next revision will be XXXX-1, then comes XXXX-1A, then XXXX-1AA. After that I am lost, but I think I have seen some with three A.
Anyone care to look it up to be sure?Terry- Top
