I agree completely with Tom's assessment. The last one accepted as "genuine" that I am aware of, went across the auction block in 2007 (a roadster). The high bid of 1.55 million did not meet the reserve, at a collector car auction house that permits reserves.
I also know of two different collectors, who have put a standing offer of one million in cash out, for at least the past four years. No takers.

Tom, I agree with your range in prices. I have seen several private sales of 68/9 L88s in the last few years. The low mile car that mecum sold in 07 for 442K was a nice car. I however have seen higher prices for other L88 cars in the range from 500K to 600K for street L88s.

Tom, I believe that it sold in the 750K area.

Steven, this is the car that Tom was referring to. It sold at the RM auction last year for about 750K.

Is it possible that these counts do not include mandatory options, maybe there are 115 non L-88s with J-56. 81 J-56s cars in 68 with only 80 L-88 cars. 267 J56s in 67. Phil 8063

Last I heard was the AIR "press" car was under restoration. The other AIR L88 car is in Mt. View, CA in pieces, maybe to be restored some time....

Dick, I think Ridge was talking about the other L88 that sold at Mecum in 2007, It wasn't the L88 that Reg was saying is for sale in WA. state ?

Was your L88 a 69 ? The white/saddle convertible L88 , Corvette Mike in CA. got a Duntov with that car in 2005 or so , sold it to guy in Ft Wayne in 2006 , just sold by the new owner last month, I think Kruse has it ?
