Nothing wrong with selling it after all the award belongs to the person not the car. Now that NCRS is at Barrett Jackson at least we know it won't be used to fluff up a non award car there. I can see picking it up so I can letter box my regional TF with a color copy of the cert so I can keep the originals in a safe place.

Remember guns (err Ribbons) don't kill (err fraudulantly claim TopFlight) people (err Corvettes), people kill (err fraudulantly clam TopFLight) people (err Corvettes)

The seller of the blue ribbon is Jim Guck of Elmers Auto parts. Jim and his sons do a wonderful job on ebay. Very honest. I would bet my last dollar Jim is not selling a bogus ribbon. Or let me reword that. Jim is not knowingly selling a ribbon that is bogus. Now if the guy he got it from made it up then that's another story. JD

The blue ribbons easily fade over time.

I'm trying to understand what the fuss is about, and why the discussion has all but accused the seller of fraud. Cars get sold. Cars with ribbons get sold. Cars with ribbons that get sold may purchased by people that don't know or care about an NCRS ribbon and choose not to enshrine either.

So what. If it bothers somebody to that degree, buy it to keep it out the hands of the ne're-do-wells. I've got a box of old bowling trophies up in the attic. Any takers?

Since we're now playing Internet Cop, somebody please tell Corvette Central to lower their price on Judging Manuals:

          Regaining some $$$?

Might be the same gentleman who, 4 or 5 years ago, purchased a 59(?) at B-J (for what I considered a bloated price) at least partially based on the ribbon on the seat of the car. As I recall, NO claim was made in the written description about judging.
8 months or so later, he showed up here (or another chat board) asking how he could trace the judging history; turned out that Roy Sinor had to break the news that there was nothing to indicate the car had ever been judged.
