69 Hose Configuration

I'm hoping someone can send / post some pictures of the hose configuration (passenger side) for a 390HP with air. The routing of the heater hoses, AC hoses and overflow hoses. I've been reading the JG pages 66 and 67 for this topic but still not totally clear to me. The JG calls for tower clamps on the hose in between the rediator and the overflow tank. Is that correct, or is the Wittik type D clamps correct? Last question, was there always a tower clamp on the PCV hose? I saw a car recently with a spring type clamp there (like the kind used on the brake booster hose).

Jeff,
There is a good illustration of the heater hose routing on AC cars in the AIM. At one time that illustration was used in the TIM&JG, and may still be in there.

I would bet on Wittik type D for the rad to expansion tank hose.

I have never seen anythign but tower clamps on the AIR hoses.

Last question, was there always a tower clamp on the PCV hose? I saw a car recently with a spring type clamp there (like the kind used on the brake booster hose).

A few shots of the spring clamp used on the PCV hose as well as the power brake booster hose. My apologies as the last one, showing the manufacturers stamp, is a little blurry.

If anybody is interested, here are a few PICS of the 1 1/16 and 1 1/4 heater hose clamps. These are original, but, have been replated. As those of you intimately familiar with restoration will quickly notice, these have not been installed on the car, yet.

Mark, Thanks for the pics. It appears that the JG imight be incorrect in 2 areas regarding the clamps. Terry I can't seem to find that illustrtion you mentioned. My JG does not have it either.

OK -- I'll dig it up tonight at home. It is in the C60 section -- and there is a chance I am mixing up 1968-69 and 1970-72 TGIM and AIM. I know it is/was in one or both of the TIM&JG, and we stole it from one of the AIMS.

I was obviously a little mixed up when you asked about PCV clamps and I responded about the AIR. DUH!! It is good Mark has passed reading comprehension because I haven't.

Ok Terry, I found the C60 diagrams, your memory is very good! (Ignoring your reference to A.I.R., Haha) On another note, these old hose clamps I have are next to impossible to read the bands (heavy patina). I don't want to clean so I'll have to assume they are all original.

Yea, the long-term memory is alive and well -- it is the short-term that gives me fits. I'm glad you found the AIM diagram.

Patina should tell you everything you need to know.

Now if I can remember to take the picture, I have some unused DCM tower clamps (none for sale, to use a popular expression around here) I'll post for Mark.
