I have another question, related to this, if I may: my S/N 29603 (August build) L-36 has the following stamp:
1AT 8 1 69 W. (note no sign of any stamp after the "W")
The 1AT is consistent with the car as I understand it, but should I find a VIN number on the differential case? I haven't been able to find one.

Relax, there is NO VIN derivative stamp on the differential. Engine, Transmission and Frame, but nothing else got a VIN stamp.

Relax, there is NO VIN derivative stamp on the differential. Engine, Transmission and Frame, but nothing else got a VIN stamp.

Thanks Terry...Now I'm relaxed, but the "search" certainly got me to do a lot of extra scrubbing and brushing!
