A lot of interesting pulley stuff in all these shots.
I take pictures to show the orange car owner. He lives in Japan, so I keep an album on Webshots for him to see progress on his car. "Master pics" of both cars are here on my computer.

A few hours with a lift and a memory card and you too could have pictures at your fingertips.

like I am going to loose this argument with him--correct?

I thought you were talking about Corvettes and that's what my response was based on. I don't know what the situation was for Camaro. Generally, though, I think that the bolt attachment was "phased out" beginning with 1969.

Just a small technical correction- early '69's had bolts not studs (page 331 of AIM note 6 staes that "nut dwg was a bolt" 11-7-68). My October '68 car is this way and it is a PAIN to allign all the pulleys and fan clutch and get the bolts started. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, I would not be surprised, at all, that early 69's used bolts. 1969 was the change-over year, so especially for something like this, the change might have occurred after the start of the model year.

For installation woes created by the lack of studs and use of bolts, simply install 2 studs and use them to get the pullies and everything aligned. Then, install 2 bolts in the other two holes. Finally, remove the 2 studs and install bolts. Done.

            Joe -

'69 Camaros used bolts - don't know when the attachment changed to studs on the Camaro, as '69 is where my "F"-body knowledge stops.

              Joe:
This is exacltly how I have been doing this for years. In fact I cut slots in the top of the studs to allow for an angled screw driver tip to remove a stubborn stud.
