    Roy,

I always enjoy your posts. They are both entertaining and educational.

Also don't encourage Steve to get a '55. He has as much stuff to get put back together as I do.

Roy, We are the same age, I'll be 75 in August. I got a call from NHRA, they want me back doing fuel check as soon as I am able. I guess the 16 year old heart keeps the brain going full throttle, but the body has a hard time keeping up. Dale

Check Craigslist, S.F. Bay Area, auto parts, good looking aftermarket hardtop. Says for 1954.

If the original cups are there you cant remove them and reuse them again on the new stuff because they are crimped ,but you can pull them out and grind the crimp off . The cups are to keep you from dimpling in the material as you tighten the screws .( I often see flat bezels ??) used .

            Thanks Roy.

Jim Blakely also offers a way to maybe reuse the old cups.

            Roy,
            Thanks for the debris update.
Believe me when I say that thousands of us Vette lovers were so worried
that all that crud was going to slide down that roof on to your Vettes sitting there. Everyone of us, (over ten thousand of us) couldn't get get a good nights sleep after we saw the dilemma it posed.

Beside that and the CAL. mud slides....WHEW!!!!!

Another Question?????? By any chance is the color of the mud in those mudslides in CAL. the color "BRONZE!!!!

            Karl.
