OK! Now we are getting some info.

1022 No brackets or holes & 2 screws at end of rocker panel
2833 No brackets or holes & 2 screws at end of rocker panel
83XX Has brackets riveted
13,XXX Has brackets riveted
13,3XX Has evidence of brackets riveted
17,XXX Has brackets riveted.

Do we have any owners with cars between 2833 and 83XX that can comment?

Most all the brackets I have seen are installed with 3/16 in. pop rivets

9900 has brackets riveted

Tom, Do you know if that rivet part # is a pop rivet. Other rivets on that page are not.

My parts cross reference book says that rivet 3828470 is "3/16" Alum Pop Rivet with 1/4" grip range." Also, the brackets are available at Long Island Corvette.

Thanks for the information about the pop rivets.

My coupe is 031XX built second week November 62 and I can tell you for a fact the rocker panels had two holes in each end. I can't attest as to the brackets because the fenders had been replaced.

Yep, LIC has them at $5.00 each, they are items 14-12A and 14-12B.

Hi Tim, As you can tell from what I am gathering here your car may not have come with the brackets. Do your rocker panels have evidence of screws previously being used in the firs or 2nd hole in the bottom of the rockers?

My memory tells the two holes were used and there was evidence. The rockers have departed life with me... They were junk but I should have saved them..

i had a 2nd week of dec, 1962 coupe that did not have the brackets. car long gone and i don't remember vin # but do remember 2nd week dec.mike

So we have an 83XX car with the riveted brackets and a 99XX car without the brackets.

I guess we need more samples in the 8000 - 10,000 range.

The quest continues.
