    Fraud on the EEEE???

    There is a 65 red coupe on the flee item # 180485346505 that fraudulently advertised. It is stated in the add it is original. It is not. This is the one in Atlanta that I asked for help on the engine. It was decided on by fellow board members that if everything that was stated was correct the engine was cast after the car was built. I drove 10hours up there on the hopes that it was a misprint. It was not and I took the time to show the owner where the problems were and now he has re-advertised it as originla again. He is fully aware that it is not. This is fraud. Stay away from this car if you want original... This is upsetting after a person who claims he did not know it was the original states again that it is ....Tom Stanton # 41491

    A/C compressor won't remind anyone of an original '65 either!

        Maybe someone thought the 'E12' on the trim tag meant May 12 and so the engine pad now has a May date as well.

          I just don't appreciate someone advertising this car as original when I took the time to point out everything that I could find quick to the owner that was not original. The alternator, the intake, the block, the a/c compressor, the valve covers,the distributor and probably other things I missed. This guy said he was just running the add the previous owner had run. Thats fine if you did not know the differance, but when you do thats fraud.I even told him about Bruce Shaw and said I don't think you want him on your case! Tom Stanton #41491

            I once showed an acquaintance detailed written documentation verifying that his 68 roadster actually had a 396 Camero engine in it. A few months later he advertised the car as having a 427 cubic inch engine. Lucky for him he did not sell it.

            Seems some people just don't understand exactly what fraud is.

              Or they do know that it is fraud and keep listing it in the hope of finding some unsuspecting buyer. Sad either way...

                Tom;

                Sounds like your midyear search is not going too well. Sorry to hear that, but you no doubt are learning a lot about them and human nature.

                  You are correct my search is not going well. This car was optioned the way I wanted and other than the engine and underhood looked pretty good. The worst part is the guy told me he didn't know it was a fraud and he had been taken. Now he is trying to take someone else to the cleaners. This is just plain wrong in my book. Tom

                    Not bad, already up to 30,000 and eleven bidders on a no reserve so this one will be in the hands of someone soon. It is only if he/she leaves feedback will one be able to let them know, perhaps they don't even care and just want the car because it is red.

                      Could be because it is red. But the original statement by the seller galls me. If he did not know that is one thing. But he does, I pointed out what I could and the guy acted like he was flabergasted. I geuss he wasn't. Tom

                        I think the FLEE locked him up. No bids in several days. I would like to see Bruce Shaw get ahold of this dude.

                          This guy is still at it. He is up to 31,100.00 and still going. He still has the car advertised as original. I wish Bruce Shaw would get him, and get him good......

                            I am sure he acted flabergasted. Flabergasted that he was caught by you red handed trying to sell a mis-represented car!

                            Let the buyer beware..............
