3782461 you are correct John. This guy was innocent I thought, but I don't know now. I do know for sure he knows the differance now and chooses to ignore the truth.

Tom,
I'm not an expert on the value of these cars and I get get easily confused about determining the values. I was wondering, in your opinion, what is the car's value, as is? And what would it be worth if it was original? What would it's value be if it was non-original but attaining a NCRS TOP FLIGHT?

Thanks!

In my opinion the car the way it is would probably be worth 30-32. All original and numbers matching I would say 41-45. And top flight non-original anyones geuss. I don't have a problem with this guy getting all he can, but don't advertise it as original. That is my beef!

Thanks Tom! I can see how it pays to do your homework when determining what type of car you want. The value of these cars are all over the place.

My guess is that the car is in the "hot potato" stage...buyers figure out what it really is, and try to pass it along. I'd guess the next stage will be the car disappearing for a while and then showing up with a correct casting and matching stamp pad.

If I were a betting man I would bet with you. The seller told me he know's his corvette's, I am a Master NCRS judge. I think if this is so he needs to take a refresher course or start all over maybe. Anymay I hope he doesn't make anything on it. He paid 32k for it.Had it 2-3 weeks. Lets keep an eye on it. Suggestion-
Don't sweat it.
if you get agitated over things misrepresented on Ebay, you are in for a lot of aggravation. Ebay and Craigslist are chockful of warnings to buyers to exercise caution in bidding and buying. In fact, this one is prominently displayed on every car for sale page:
Safe Buying Tips for Vehicles
NEVER pay for a vehicle by instant cash transfer, such as Western Union or Moneygram.
ALWAYS check the My Messages section in your My eBay page to confirm any emails from us requesting account information.
GET a vehicle history report before purchasing a used car (1981 or later).
BEWARE of fraudsters who send fake email messages claiming to represent or offer escrow services as part of eBay's Vehicle Purchase Protection program.

Be safe - get all the tips

That seller has no obligation to pay any attention to anything you or anyone else might tell him before he advertises his car. Your intentions may be good, but he can advertise what he wants as he wants, so long as he is not knowingly dealing in stolen goods. If he wants to misrepresent in a business transaction, he exposes himself to possible civil recourse, but he is commiting no crime.

Re: Fraud on the EEEE???

I am sure the man knows now that he got took. If he didn't know the car was a fraud at the time of purchase. The point is to expose these fraudulent cars and thier owners. A lot of people jump into these cars without knowing what they should know. I know let the buyer beware! But if I and others in this organiztion can help educate them I believe that is part of being a good member.I know I appreciate the help I get from this board . In my book wrong is wrong. There is no such thing as grey areas. It is either black or white, I know pretty simple but that is the way I see it.

Suggestion - every one reading this report this to the flea bag, that is at the bottom of the ad, there is a link, report this item. Ebay has a financial interest in this with their buyer protection plan.

I did report it the last time it was listed. The flee did nothing.. I just hope some unknowing person just entering this hobby doesn't get taken. This guy tells people he is a Red Hat NCRS judge. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't I don't know. What I do know is that he is using that to try and sell a car that is a fraud......
