    Re: 1966 Window Sticker Questions

    John,

How would a dealer go about obtaining a Zone replacement sticker back when these cars where new? Is there anyway to identify one? I figured the car must have had a black top with blackwall tires being they werent listed as options.

The dealer could either type up his own on a blank sticker, or the Zone could order one from the plant.

I was just thinking it would be good to compare this to oterh originals to evaluate paper, etc.

So I went to the flea, and the first ad up is a 1981 Original Corvette sticker from New York.

Then the same seller has several other stickers. No these aren't the clemons stuff.

The 1971 sticker is a lot more yellowed. where was this item stored? the glove box???

I am suppose to get some vintage pictures of the car from when he bought it. This guy didnt think anything of any of the documentation it was just laying in the glove box for 36 years. It was just a car that he had a long time and said he was too old to drive anymore. The guy wasnt a numbers guy and defiantely not the type to have a repo window sticker made. I truely believe that this sticker is a dealer ordered a copy from back in the day.
