    Original Stamp pad????

Here is a pic of the stamp pad of a car i'm looking to purchase. Can someone verify if it is a "original" or a restamp. Ive been told the broach marks look pretty bang on. 1966 L79

The characters look authentic. If someone knowledgeable likes the grain, it's probably original. Nothing in the picture arouses suspiction.

Looks fairly good to me. Others with more experience will chime in I'm sure.

Broach marks look good in photo. But remember photos can be deceiving. Another poster, who has vast experience, has commented on the characters and that is good enuff for me

The counterfeiters are getting better on broaches, unfortunately

You really need to look at the car as a whole, restored, restored 30 years ago, or somewhat a survivor, options, what the seller knows about the owner trail, above all take your time, a deal too good to pass up is.

Don't forget it take two not one, one who's willing to pay for the service and one who preforms the service.

Michael, I would surmise that you are closer on the money. I do not know what they charge to recreate the broach marks, but I can assure you it ain't cheap.

I agree Micheal, looks very close. I'm very satisfied its a true "original engine" Even look at the pics from the restorers guide. Broach marks are almost identical to my pad.
