I'am just waiting for the day when those original GM build sheets suddenly appear out of no-where. There will be tears of joy and sorrow that day!

I think all the real paper work had to be preserved from aging from day one.

I am amazed at how good the paper was that GM used, it out lasted the exhaust, paint, engines, WELL you know.

I saw the tank sticker that was on my 67 car in the 70's and it looked like it was a source that would hold moisture and eventually cause rust on my tank.

It was wrinkled and not all there and (not knowing what I know now) took it off before it FELL off and trashed it.

It's to bad the quality in the paper and was not focused on paint and other things.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it doesn't exist but those that have it are really lucky.

We had a mutt without paperwork....... I better not go there!

I happen to be lucky enough to have a 63 coupe. I bought it before the numbers matching thing became really big. The car had everything pointing to it being a fuel injected car. Even the box of parts I got with the car had an early air-cleaner canister with it.
He was the second owner and told me the reason he took the F.I. off was because the fuel pump kept leaking and eventually caught on fire.
Bla, Bla, Bla, I think my car was an original fuel injected car.
My partner had a 340 HP 63. He converted it to fuel injection, As he bought his parts he was laughing and telling me his car was a more correct than my original was because all of his dates were picked to make the car perfect.
This is where I started opening up my eyes to how important it is. He even has more documentation than I do because he chose to pay for it.
One afternoon he said "Look at our cars, there is no differece" You know, that is when I realized he was right. We both had the same exact car.
I am almost to the point where I think, if all the correct parts are there, it is a fulie.
How much should someone be willing to pay to be able to say "My care came from the factory with the fuel injection"
        Do you get my point?

Let's just do our best to enjoy our cars and if you are one of the people considering shelling out the big bucks for a high dollar car, I hope you get what you deserve.
        Just my opinion
