Here it is. The square port is on the right; oval on the left (for you small block guys ). sorry for lack of contrast; tried on the sunny balcony, yet couldn't eliminate shadows, or my "helper" (see thumbnail under big pic).

Thanks Wayne! Now we need some creativity how to approximate the color. Maybe Eastwood Zinc Phosphate? And bonus points for the number ...

For 1966-67 L-36 the gasket color is immaterial. These engines were painted and the exposed portion of the gasket was usually painted. Even if there was some tendency to have lapses in coverage on some engines in the gasket area, I would assume that yours was one of the ones that was completely covered.

How about installation on a '67 (or 1968 or 1969) L68 tripower oval port aluminum intake ?

Well, color of the exposed gasket would probably be of concern to some in that case. On aluminum manifold engines this area was not usually painted or, at least, not completely painted. On my original owner 1968 Chevelle SS 396 with L-78 that I once-upon-a-time owned, the exposed area on the head between the manifold and valve cover was NOT painted. Of course, that engine also used chrome valve covers.
