    Re: Inconsistent Judging?

I have been reading this post and the "other" post .......

Seems so many people get caught up with all the crazy inconsistancies....Get all upset over such trivial things - that in the really big picture mean a whole lot of nothing.

It is a HOBBY and it is supposed to be FUN......
Life is way to short to get aggrevated over this stuff...

And IMHO -- if you are getting warped out of shape over a Corvette, you have WAY BIGGER issues to deal with ....

    My two cents .....

    Bill

PS -- judges are human, nor machines, and they do make mistakes sometimes.
They offer their love of the hobby free of charge.
No one gets paid to go to a meet and judge -- breakfast yeah, but .. no dinner.. LOL

Wow! What a read. Let's all calm down, have a glass of wine or a can of beer, and watch the baseball playoffs. We all love our cars. I just love driving mine when time permits. As my kids say, "chill out Dad"!

Now even by your admission it is perhaps slightly better? Perhaps you should qualify what better means! If it means shinier, where it should not be, then guess what you just answered your own question.

I would like to see your evidence that this happened, different judges, different national team leader? No discussion with me at either event about the judging with respect to your car or any other car for that matter. Yet we planned it, man that is a stretch. I would suspect if something like that was going to happen it would have happened at the National, shortly after your barrage of posts, I will promise you more were aware of it then than at the regional. The unbiased readers of this post are getting from you the input that you feel will persuade their belief, facts that exist in your mind.

As I indicated in the first sentence if this discussion continues with me it will be via phone or email.

              Re: Inconsistent Judging?

              Clark,
After reading all of the posts regarding your quest to define inconsistencies in NCRS judging let me share with you my experiences in over 12 years of both judging at
all levels of NCRS and having had 5 cars "go thru the system".
I have achieved 4 Duntov Awards, numerous Chapter and Regional Top Flight Awards, a 3 star Award and multiple BG Gold Awards , 2 BG Benchmark Awards, and I
own a car that has been both in BG Special Collection and BG Hall of Fame.
My reason for these statements is to qualify the system as being reasonable but not necessarily consistent.
I have met knowledgeable judges and judges that needed better training.
I have been treated fairly and treated unfairly.
We as humans react in different ways to adversity. Sometimes, I have been thrilled with the judging results, and sometimes I have been quite upset with the results.
With all of this being said, I have always tried to prepare my cars for the meets with the clear understanding of the judging criteria applied at the event
and I have spent many hours researching my facts so I can dialouge my position with judges who have a different interpretation than I in a particular issue.
I have spent time judging and will achieve the "Red Hat" in the very near future.
I have also taken several of my cars to well known Concours'D Elegance events where they have achieved quite well and received nice awards, so it is possible
to do both if one takes the time to prepare the cars accordingly.
I am unfamiliar with your car. At the 2012 National, I judged interiors on the BB1965's so I never got to see your car up close. I am certain that if you address the
issues that are buggung you about your car and it meets the judguing criteria, you will get the points you are looking for.
By the way, I love to question authority.
Best of luck at AI, I will attend next year.
