    C7, dreaming

Lets hope the new C7 will look a bit like the Transformer car (but I'm afraid it is not)...

    Re: C7, deraming

Rob, living in Detroit and working in the auto industry, we see numerous spy photos with regularity here.

Expect a razor-cut body design with Camaro-like tail lights and a more lower and more "grilled" front fender design. I hear that only 2 GM part numbers will be carried over from the C6 to C7. Both parts are insignificant - roof latch + ???

The car will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show (Detroit) next week. I'll be going early. I'll do my best to snap a few photos and I'll post them here. I don't know how close I'll be able to get to the car. I hear that there'll be a cut-away car, showing the interior and a car suspended from the ceiling. THAT'LL make it difficult to see. I hope there's a full car on the floor.

Here's a recent photo that appears to be the closest I've seen. We'll have it for sure within a week!

Let's hope NOT. That transformer car was horrible.
Isn't January 13 the date for the Detroit Auto Show unvieling? I hope to see one next week in Scottsdale.

The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) opens to the public on Jan 19th. Press and suppliers have access, starting on the 14th. I'll be going to the supplier preview on the 17th and the charity event on the 18th. Will bring a camera both trips.

A mix of Cadillac and Camaro rear. Not so nice looking.

Couldn't have said it better, and throw in a modest HP V8, without any performance variants like the Z06 or ZR1 anywhere on the horizon, and I am not impressed or excited.

I agree. It is also a mix of japanese and italian on the side. So far, I'm not impressed but hopefully the final version will look great in person.

That rendering is pretty close to what it's going to look like according to someone who has seen it. A Z variant (Z06 or ZR1) is on the horizon a year or 2 down the road. There will be live streaming video at 7 PM EST Sunday of the unveiling on the GM 1/13/13 website.

I have not heard that officially from any GM source, but if so, I will reserve judgement until then, but in the meantime hang on to my '12 ZR1 until such time as they have a suitable replacement. I am not holding my breath, a Motorweek show last week reported high horsepower engines are staring to disappear due to excessive government regs, it is 1970-71 all over again.

I personally liked many of the styling ques of the Transformer Corvette.

Looks like the Corvette identity is being mixed with the Cadillac and Camaro. Maybe they should rename it................. Cor-addi-aro?

If it has those ugly Camaro tail lights and cadillac inspired rear, I'm out.

I'm seriously hoping that the C7 will be a stand alone styling design, but probably not.

the car design was predicated in matching the aero of the cars like the ferrari for the corvette race team so they are not at a disadvantage on the high speed race tracks. i bet it has a place to allow the incoming air to the rad to come out the top of the hood to cause front down force and instead of lift if the air has to come out of the bottom of the car. these items are being dictated by the racing assoc. as the only way you can use them they must be on the production car. several years ago the corvette team came out with direct injection heads and they were told they could not use them because the production corvette did not have them. i am going to the detroit auto show next saturday to see if i am correct
