My heart is with the old cars but these new ones are tremendous performers. I really like the looks both front and rear.
+1, I watched it live too and have been following all of the opinions on that other forum for the last 18 months. I have a '67 L71 and a 2012 ZR1, both wonderful cars in very different ways. I like the C7 overall, just a few odd things about it I would have done differently, but I know the designers and brass want the young crowd that want Euro-style stuff these days. That is the only way Chevy can make some money on this car, bring in the young buyers who admire the C2 or C3, but would never own one, and create some buzz among the auto community. This C7 will do very well in sales, the C6 was just not doing well and they really need this car. My 2 centavos.

The thing that stood out to me in the unveiling was how proud the guys were about the car. You could see it in their face and hear it in how they talked about the car. You know that feeling has to flow down through everybody that helped in the development of the C7.

Will its design and performance please everybody, heck no, but the amount of effort that went into the design and seeing how proud those guys were of what they had accomplished has helped me get over the few things I don't like in the styling.

I look forward to seeing one in person, at the race track and on the road. Way to go GM Engineering!

When designing for such iconic brands, and for emotionally charged brand loyalists, polarity is usually a good indicator that you have a potential hit on your hands. With the love / hate reception going on with the debut, it seems they have done a good job moving the brand forward. The worst reaction would have been a mediocre reception.
