I was reading on the CF that a guy bought a 1962 & has had it 51 years. I was wondering how lone people here have had a Corvette they bought new or used. I have had my 70 LT-1 since 1979

Re: How long have you owned your corvette
Have owned my 1966 roadster since 1986 - bought it when my daughter was 2 years year old....I remember the big grin on her face when she went for a drive with me for the first time. Grinning from ear to ear about the rumble of the sidepipes and the wind in her hair! Had a fleeting thought of selling it this past year to help fund my 1954 restoration. She sooo convinced me that I cannot sell it so it is part of the family for now. I always keep in my I am only tending to the vintage cars I own now in preparation for the next owners....
Hey whoever is tending to my yellow C5 convertible right now - make sure to keep the shiny stuff bright and the oil changed. I'll be around in about 4 more years to pick it up from you :-)

Re: How long have you owned your corvette
I enjoy reading these types of posts as it always amazes me how long some of our members have owned these great cars. We have had ours since 1998 and while its not as long as others it doesn't feel like its been 15 years.- Top

Re: How long have you owned your corvette
I can't give you all the dates on my 1969 because it lasted only six weeks and about 3000 miles. High performance car, low performance driver.
I picked up my 1970 LT-1 February 29, 1970. Yes, it was a leap year. The car sat on the dealer's showroom floor from February 15, when I put the down stroke on it.
I picked up the 2008 at the National Corvette Museum October 24, 2007. I watched the build (don't tell anyone, but I helped) and it was off the end of the line October 11, 2007.
I find the best way to keep a Corvette original is to buy it from Chevrolet. Nice post Ken. Thanks for puitting it up.Terry- Top

Re: How long have you owned your corvette
I did chime in on that thread on the Forum. That was Wally Knoch's 62. I've had my 65 for 41 years. Paid $1,500 for it in 1971. Talked the seller down from $1,750. I've also had my 61 for 30 years.- Top

Re: How long have you owned your corvette
I have had 13 or 14 vettes since 1972. The current and probably last one is a 63 2 top fuel injected #306. I just completed a complete overhaul of the engine, FI and transmission to original specs. The last thing I have to do is get the wonderbar radio restored and replace the antenna cable because someone put a Custom Design radio in it before I bought it. The radio is being shipped today to Jerry Rudbeck. After the radio goes in the car will be back to original.- Top
