    C1 steering wheel

What is the best way to strip a original 1957 steering wheel?

    Re: C1 sterring wheel

I have sanded them in the past but it does remove the texturing which can be put back using various methods.
A chemical stripper might work but it also might soften the wheel.

If you google "Stripping Paint from Plastic" there are a number of products out there.

Send it to Richard Dunham - he's been restoring C1 steering wheels for decades.

I have removed paint from plastic dash parts using Pinesol full strength. You will need to submerged the steering wheel. It removes the paint and has not damaged any of the plastic parts that I have worked on. I believe it was something I found out about on the internet somewhere. Main thing it does not damage anything.

I have used Pinesol as Phil did on plastic (styrene) and metal. Works great without damaging. Has anyone tried Pinesol on vinyl to remove interior dye???
