    Thank you for the information, guys. I'll have my work cut out for me, this is a new project car for me. Who knows how long it has been driven this way.

      The seller says it can be used as a cover for a spare differential. Just what one needs; something to make that spare differential even heavier to lug around or move from place-to-place. Visqueen and tape works pretty well to keep the dirt out and it's a lot lighter.

      By the way, this cover evidences the pock-marking due to previous heavy corrosion. Even if this cover were intact I wouldn't pay $5 for it.

        I didn't bother going to the listing yesterday, but I did today. Here's my favorite line:

        "This is a great diff. cover for your Corvette's spare differential"

          If you do not know this already Tim, the spring retainer bolts are tightened fully after the Corvette's curb weight is sitting on the rear spring.
