I have a 64 coupe that I am Restoring. It is a Non-matching # car that is going to Be a Driver. The car is silver and I want to put a stinger hood on it....Love the look! I have tried to find a original one that is in decent shape and not big $$. My question is...who makes the best fitting after market BB stinger hood if I end up going that route? Thanks

I don't know who makes the best repro hood. However, for this hood you're going to be going the repro route unless you're willing to spend BIG $$$$$ or settle for an original hood in poor condition and need of substantial repair. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 67 Big Bock hood
Sermersheim makes a repro, but unknown quality. Most of their parts are very good though.
Corvette Image is another, but also unknown.
I thought Ecklers made their own but it appears direct ship from elsewhere, maybe from one of the above.
Big money either way. FYI, I believe you'll have to move your hood support over to the Drivers side inner skirt for the '67 stinger hood.

Re: 67 Big Block hood
There are 67 BB hoods on the CF for sale often. In fact there is a original one there now. They want 1,100.00 for it. You would have to move your prop to the drivers side or buy aftermarket that has bolt pads on both sides.65 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,

Nice guy too.
As others have indicated, hood prop is on the opposite side. modification required.- Top

Re: 67 Big Block hood
I don't think that feature was limited to reproductions. I believe the last available GM SERVICE hood, GM #6263573, also had the dual mounts. I'm sure a LOT of these were sold as it was the only 1967 big block hood available from GM from January, 1973 until it was discontinued without superecession in July, 1987.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 67 Big Block hood
I dont remember any GM issued fiberglass 67 BB hood that had both side mounts. Except, there was that injection molded thing that was supplied for a time. It might have had provisions on both sides, but who cares on that one. I think some of the later issue 66 BB hoods were supplied with both side mounts. Some aftermarket hoods may have had both mounts. There were some of those that used original GM sub structures with a had laid hood skin. Some of those had support plates on both sides.- Top

There were only two part numbers for the GM SERVICE 1967 big block hood assembly. The first was GM #3910280 which was around until January, 1973. The second was GM #6263573 which was available from that time until July, 1987. I always thought the part number change reflected, among other things, the dual hood prop mounting locations. The 1967 big block hood was a very popular C2 mod and I thought that, to help accommodate that and drive SERVICE sales of the hood, GM made it more "adaptable". Maybe not, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 67 Big Block hood
I dont know when that injection molded thing came out, but if it didnt generate a part number change, I dont know what would. I am pretty certain the 67 BB hood from GM never had plates installed for both sides.- Top
