It would be like when the challenger lifted off with flexing o rings and you know what happened. I think it is best to be conservative and see if I have towing plan with grundy and have the car do the drive on the flatbed. I hope I don't have to forfeit my sportsman ribbon but if I do it is what it is. Safety first.
You are making the correct and wise choice here. Too much to lose here to save a few bucks.

Yeah it was best to leave the car and go home and think things over. I just got back via mini van and home now.

It is so strange to open the garage and there is no red car there anymore. Very empty feeling. I don't really know how to describe....but I am sure folks will know what I mean. Will keep ya posted on developments. Very interesting weekend.

Well it looks like we are going to go for a on location repair in Orlando.

My friend contacted a corvette/car shop that agreed to come out and do the work.

I prefer this option rather than having it towed home. Nothing will be done until the end of the week.

Once it gets repaired I will then go back up and reunite with my pride and joy!

And you know what, I didn't see anything in the Sportsman rules about being LAST to drive the car home. So

it looks like I will be able to complete the mission after all.

It is looking brighter today. Maybe hit Disney again to celebrate!!!!!!

Mark Let me know if this repair works for you. If not you still have the option of my 24' enclosed trailer to get home. Available Friday or Saturday if needed. Tony

So far as I know there is no Sportsman restriction regarding trailering. I would think so long as you drove it in and out of the gate at Old Town you are golden. NCRS has no ribbon police. You got it you own it. The Sportsman Award should be the least of your concerns at this point.

Yep. Green ones. I would offer to send you one (I have dozens) but I bet I would get in trouble with the boss for doing that.

You would, guess I need to find out how to get mine from the Hampton Nationals and all those regionals I went to.

Just a guess on my part; but I think going to the awards ceremony (dinner IS optional) might be the key.

DOH! Knew I forgot something…… And all the guys at the bar told me it was just a bunch of boring speeches by the elites and people getting "salad hats" (what we called them in the Navy).

A few Regionals have gone to giving out the Sportsman ribbons at the welcome party so that you didn't have to attend the dinner.
However, those seem to be few and far between.

Don't worry - I only have 1 of the ribbons I paid for either, as I'm not paying $50 more for it just to pick it up at the dinner.

Actually at the Nationals the Sportsman ribbons are distributed at the membership meeting. No rubber chicken.

I don't think they were in 2011, at least based on my lack of ribbon.

Did you get enough points to get a plaque from your Chapter?

You are right! That would be like taking away a top flight from someone that earned driving points that bumped them up and they had issues after they left the field. What's
done is done. Yeah no concern as I am just happy my car is safe and may be back in business by the weekend.
