I am wondering if the bell housing bolt heads should be painted the same orange as the bell housing, or should they be just a natural finish (Zinc I guess)? Also, what letter if any should be correct for the head of these bolts? This is an early 1966 427-450HP car.

The were usually painted with the engine and bellhousing. The bellhousing was almost always painted in the area of the bolts, so they got painted. The bolts, themselves, were zinc plated. "A" or "M" were common headmarkings. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
