Re: Malcolm Konner Chev Paramus NJ
I bought a LOT of Corvettes from Pete Z in the late 70's thru earlry 80's. He had the allocation to buy and I had the buyers in CA that had a need for speed. CA had gone to Calif emission and completely eliminated L82 engines and 4 speeds in CA. I was drop shipping the cars on a courtesy delivery in Las Vegas, flying to Vegas and driving them back to CA. CA law as the cars needed to have 3,000 miles on them before they could be registered. One day Calif ARB came to my office and discovered a dozen Vettes and Cadillacs with "over 3,000 miles and under 3,020 miles- it was a miracle !!. GOD I hope statute of limitations has passed. That was a long day with a LOT of BS. I had L-82 4 speeds when the local dealers were trying to sell 305 inch automatic Corvettes- I was a pretty good salesman lets say, made some friends.
Has anybody seen or heard from Jack Gilmore from Harry Mann ? I bought some of Mann's 80/81 Flint Convertible turbo show cars when that all went sideways.
