When you go to page 2, why do the thread #s not continue as #51 but instead go back to #1 and start over?

        Re: Upgrade Bug Report

        Clem,

The FAQ has articles about how to post pictures in threads. It is easier now than the old board. There is also a new feature called albums where you can create groups of pictures that may be related such as "1955 Restoration" where you could upload a bunch of pictures or your restoration project.

Do a Search in the FAQ section for Album to find out how to do it. I plan on re-writing that FAQ some time in the not too distant future to make it more clear and to provide some pictures to show how it is done but if you read and follow the instructions that are there now you will figure it out.

Yes, I even said that in my post.
However, having a counter in the location I mentioned is also apparently an option with this software.

              Patrick,

Could you email a screenshot of the counter you are referring to. That would give me an idea of what to look for to make it available. admin@ncrs.org

I think that this at times the slowest site I visit - over 30 seconds to open threads today.

It seems like the site has sometimes a hickup. It seems to be related with someone uploading an attachment. I need to investigate (and Google a bit on it ;-)

                      Re: Upgrade Bug Report

OK, OK now I've learned. If I "Log Out" when I am ready to get off and do something useful (just kidding), then I have to "log In" again. I've memorized my name and NCRS number and what to cap and put in parenthyeses, but that eight digit password is beyond my capacity (need a cheat sheet).

On a serious note, I've noticed that the young people really go for the complex gadgetry and features that the new format tends to approach, but I tend to be turned off by it. I'm from the old C-2 school, i.e. distibutors, carburetors, solid lifters and mechanical tachs, etc. More and more magazines are turning me off what with their articles looking more like jazzed up full page ads. I can't even find the titles on some, and it takes three paragraphs before they get to the subject of the article. Surely the graphics and colors look real appealing, but I don't want to eat the article, I want to read it and hopefully learn something from it. Right now, my new years list of mags only includes one; "The Corvette Magazine", and two "Hot Rod" and "Super Chevy" (an old friend still writes contributing artices), and three; "Motor Trend" (the latter only because I believe it has the best Automotive Industry coverage). I won't even look at a Car and Drver magazine anymore (not even for ten bucks), forget R & T, Vette, Chevy H. P. (no nothing writers), and Auto Enthusiast (Mopars and Mustangs are better left behind).

My point is, lets not get this TDC forum too jazzed up or you're going to lose a lot of us old IBM Selectric types for good.

                        Dennis,

Any idea what the screen resolution on your iPad is? Are all iPad's the same? We may not be able to squeeze any more to get to the lower resolution. I hope to find a complete theme for small devices such as phones or iPad's.

                          John,

I haven't found a screen resolution setting on the iPad. However, whatever change was done several days ago, corrected the overlapping menu items on the iPad.

                          Thanks, and Happy New Year!

I did consolidate some menu items so I am glad to hear that it is now narrow enough to fit on the lower resolution screens.

                              Rob -

I've had an issue for the last 3-4 days where at least once a session (I'm usually on for an hour or so), sometimes twice, when I click on "Technical Discussion" in the Quick Navigation box to get back to the main page (from the drop-up list for the second click), nothing happens; I can scroll up and down the page, but clicking has no effect, including on "Technical Discussion" at the top of the page. I have to "X" out of the Board, and if I try to get back in right away, I get the "Website found, waiting for reply" at the bottom of a blank screen, followed by the "Website cannot be found" screen. Twice I got back, but not to the main page - I got the NCRS "Server is too busy now - try again later" screen. If I wait about a minute, I can get back in OK. I'm on an HP notebook with Vista and AOL 9.6 (which is IE8). This doesn't occur on any other sites.

                              Edit: Just did it again!

You are able to change your password in something simpler to remember via User Profile->Edit Email & Password.
