Don't forget our club heavily depends for it future in getting those youngsters in, otherwise the mission of our club (preserving the corvette information and cars) is pretty doomed

Naturally what I don't like may not be a bug, but here goes -
At the top of a thread all responses are listed in a tree format. If one selects a response some place in that tree it is marked as #1 even if its really #15.
A look back at the tree does not show you which post was selected (presently at) and since the number now is 1 the user no longer knows where they are. Most times the poster has many responses so NOT knowing exactly where you are gets
      confusing.

Second - is there a spot which tells you what all the info on the thread means? ie red v blue envelopes on left.

I've had an issue for the last 3-4 days where at least once a session (I'm usually on for an hour or so), sometimes twice, when I click on "Technical Discussion" in the Quick Navigation box to get back to the main page (from the drop-up list for the second click), nothing happens; I can scroll up and down the page, but clicking has no effect, including on "Technical Discussion" at the top of the page. I have to "X" out of the Board, and if I try to get back in right away, I get the "Website found, waiting for reply" at the bottom of a blank screen, followed by the "Website cannot be found" screen. Twice I got back, but not to the main page - I got the NCRS "Server is too busy now - try again later" screen. If I wait about a minute, I can get back in OK. I'm on an HP notebook with Vista and AOL 9.6 (which is IE8). This doesn't occur on any other sites.

          Edit: Just did it again!
mine does not go back to the tech discussion either. i go to a window that lists all the available parts of the website and i have to click again on tech discussion out of the selection in that window to get back to the tech discussion.

            Patrick,

I think I finally figured out what you are looking for. Here is the legend from the bottom of the forum. If a forum has new messages it will have an envelope that is open with paper sticking out the top. It will be either pale blue or pale red. If it is an active thread meaning it has a lot of messages it will be pale red. If there is a small green arrow in the corner it means you have at least one post in that thread.

If the envelope is closed it mean there are no new post in that thread since you were last here. The lock means the thread is closed to new posts. Most likely you will only find this in the Archives. The little blue icon beside the envelope will take you to first new post in that thread.

            Icon Legend

            Contains unread posts
            Contains no unread posts
            Hot thread with unread posts
Hot thread with no unread posts
            Thread is closed
You have posted in this thread

When you first open the TDB you will see this icon for the Technical Discussion Forum.

This means that there are new posts since your last visit. If you see this icon instead it means you have read all of the posts in that forum.

            I hope that helps!

If you are patient it will come back to life. I just looked at the server processes and saw that someone was uploading and attachment and about 30 people were trying to log in or log back in. It took a minute but it did come back to life. Rob and I are trying to find the culprit and will get it sorted out as quickly as possible.

Three times now in the last 24 hours when trying to post a reply, the screen froze and I couldn't do a thing. I opened another itteration of Internet Explorer and my connection was working fine for other sites.

                Thanks.

                  Alan,

First I don't know which Display you are using. There are three choices in the gray menu just at the top of any thread. Hybrid Mode is the default but you might want to try Linear Mode or Threaded Mode to see if one of them suits you more.

Second there is a legend of what the envelopes mean at the bottom of the forum. Red, Blue, Open, Closed, Green Arrow, and the Blue Down Arrow takes you directly to the first new post in that thread.

                      Correct! NEVER "log out".

I click on the "Forum Tools" item in the light blue bar just above the thread view box, then click on "Mark this forum read", then "X" out at the upper right corner of the browser window, just like I did with the old board; have done it that way for years, and have never had to "log in".

                          Ken,

we are fighting this problem, probably we have to migrate all the attachments out of the database to the file system but this is rather high impact change so we want to exploit our options first to resolve it in another way...

John; still learning the new format. Almost every day when I am in a thread and try to go back out of the thread; using the back arrows; the screen locks up and I cant use the TDB.
This occurs randomly and I cant identify when this will happen. I must close SAFARI and then try it again. This is the first time using my Mac , I have ever had a problem. Please help

                                Bill,

Using the back arrow to navigate can sometimes be problematic with Safari. Click on the menu, thread or post links. Chrome and Mozilla FireFox seem to work more seamlessly with the vBulletin forum software than Safari does according to some other MAC user members.
