Re: craig take the solenoid apart

Thx guys - all excellent points. The first step is to get to the starter and wiring, I need to yank the headers and re-install the cast iron manifolds and original head pipes. Then at least I can get the starter off to check. I should have known better than mess it up with headers.......thx!.......Craig

Re: More Boring Battery Cable Story

        Terry,

Bill Locke from Vette Vues Magazine was quite impressed with the fact that we drove that 425 HP car all the way from IL. He Took several pictures of us with the car when we arrived in Copper Mtn and one of the pic's wound up on the first page of the article in Vette Vues magazine. I don't remember which issue but probably several months after the event in August of 84. That was an excellent tour!!!

I know exactly what you mean about old age and projects not getting done on time. Or ever for that matter. I sure have a lot here that are way behind schedule. I think I've officially reached geezer age now.

                Re: 1966/427 hot starter problem

I suggest you remove the stock starter and install a new mini-starter. Every other solution suggested below only postpones the inevitable. If you're going to have the car judged, put the stock starter back in - it's a simple switch.
