    Re: LS-6

The engine suffix is CPW and the vin is on the block. The heads are the AL type, rect port cast in 70. There was a tag on the door but it is no longer readable. but the trim tag is there and matches. I asked about the code on the emission sticker, because they sell repros in the catalogs and it is engine specific.
It seems to me that the parts for the engine would be near impossible to find and date match. with out pulling the motor from another LS-6 and restamping it.
The car shows no evidence of AC. No control inside, no ducting, and nothing in the engine bay showing it was ever there.

Any chance it has the yellow suffix sticker on either end of the passenger's side valve cover? I'd bet not as most fell off, but worth asking.

If the emissions sticker is coded "AZ" in the upper left hand corner and the sticker looks old and original (like thin plastic with, by-now, curled edges), that would be another indication that it's an original LS-6.

Did the LS-6 have electronic ignition? If so is there evidence of it?

The code on the sticker is missing. but the part # in the bottom right corner isn't and it is as it appears PT NO 3994018.

Yes, all 1971 with LS-6 were equipped with transistor ignition, so that, or the vestiges of it, should be present.

GM #3994018 is the part number for the "AV" code emissions sticker. This was used with LS-5 engines.
