Hi,
My name is Michael and i am interested to talk and learn about these cars with people who also share interest in these cars. I like original style cars, factory documentation and to think that the documents and cars survived after all the years is amazing. Unfortunately their is a lot of dodgy stuff going on with these old Corvettes, re stamping, forgery documents etc.
I cant afford to be burned. I am not financially motivated, but i like to know what i am paying for. Younger people like myself don't seem to be getting into the original cars. So if the knowledge can be passed onto younger enthusiasts, then that is great. Because in a few years, people are not going to know which are real cars, real documents and which are bull****.
I am from Australia and to try and buy a Corvette via eBay, dealerships/ car websites is pretty hard. Most cars will be advertised as numbers matching, but when i ask to see the numbers, sellers stop talking to me, make excuses, send me blury photos, so you cant even understand what the numbers are any way. I guess that is why most of the Corvettes in Australia a bit rough because people buy over the internet and don't take the time to travel and inspect them.
I have joined the NCRS (59732), i don't know a lot though about the cars. Hopefully in the new year the Sydney chapter will do a judging meet that i can go to land earn more about the cars.
Lately i have been thinking about small blocks, because why spend big money on a big block, when chances are it is bull**** or dodgy in some way. So i been thinking about small blocks as well and happy to learn about them too. I still have hope, that their is nice big block out their for me, probably have to wait a while for nice cars to come around. I would be happy with just one good big block that i can keep for the next 40 years or more of my life and never sell.
Well i think i have a bit of time on my hands. If your interested to pass on some knowledge than great, if not, that's cool. Please let me know.
Thanks
Michael
