I think the easiest way to plumb a fuel pressure gage would be to replace the line to the rear carb (the longest line) with a rubber line and put a tee in it to a fuel pressure gage.

You don't need a "tee". You have two other carbs to run on... Just install a barb fitting in place of the rear carb line and a hose to your gage. You'll know in a matter of seconds what the fuel pressure is.....

Thanks for all the good info ! So I'm understanding that a fuel pump problem is not likely..... All 3 bowls will be checked today !... I just can't understand how all 3 could be a problem...BUT "Murphy" has struck me before...

Pull the bowls off Ralph , remove the needle and seat with your finger move the float up and down slowly and see if there any binding in the up and motions

Well, I've made no progress.... All 3 bowl floats are completely free of any hangup regardless of how I move the float side to side or up/down . Fuel valve needles move freely with no evidence of any trash on the seats. .....I Just gotta think this thru some more...

While your this far , check the floats are they brass give them a shake see if there not leaking may cause to stay down check if they float in some solution, if ok I would change the 3 needle seat I only use Holley product and you do have the stone filter in each Carbs. inlets

Brass in center only.... no fuel in any float. Had new Holley valves already, will see if I have more. Yes, stone filter is in all bowls . I'm done for today!
Appreciate all your analysis !! How could this happen if not thru the needle & seat ?

Just doesn’t make any sense , your saying all 3 carbs. side plug gas pour out out on all 3 carbs. and you have 3 new Holley needle and seat , then the fuel Pump is more then 6psi anymore then 6psi will check off the needle and seat valve what kind pump are you using is it GM fuel pump , there are high volume Holley Mech. Pump that will give you 9 to 10 psi on special app. Just confirm the fuel pump pressure .

The needle and seats have got to be contaminated to allow fuel into the bowls to the point you are describing. I can't imagine anything else.

You have got to verify the fuel pump pressure, do the needle and seats have the little O rings at their waist. Suspect any new parts plus find a way to check those (non brass) and brass floats. A slightly heavy float could easily cause the high fuel problem.

Do you have a mitivac, it could be connected to the inlet line and pumped down when you raise the float to see if it holds a small vacuum. At least that will verify the needle/seat is sealing.

Those carburetors don't flood by themselves, you will find it.

OK.. Have removed 3 carbs; Checked all bowls for float binding or anything that could affect free movement. Brass float in center and plastic in ends are good with no absorbed fuel. I did bend each float tab slightly to give more valve adjustment possible to expose more threads on the valves. I verified no trash on needles or seats( went ahead & replaced 2 valves anyway since I had them).... verified a good o-ring on each & replaced in bowls. More threads showing now when adjusted slightly low for startup. I removed pump discharge nozzle , verified needle valve clean & installed point down, gaskets ok. Replaced power valve with a new Holley 6.5 . I'm going to take off the metering bodies on end carbs & replace gaskets while I'm in there. I'm leaning toward getting them back on & trying to start . I'll get a fuel pressure gauge tomorrow .

Ralph, if it was my car I would first get 3 new brass floats , 3 new Holley needle and seat valve , and make sure you lube the small Oring when installing them and avoid anyTeflon tape and last make sure you got 6psi on fuel pump , power valve have nothing to do with your problem Block them or install stock power valve back in from kit .

UPDATE..... Got carbs back on, Checked & rechecked.... Tried to start & no luck. Engine fires & immediately shuts down ... good shot from squirter just after it dies. Now wondering if I have an ignition problem ? I swapped in an old coil ( same result) . Jumped ballast resister connections ..no change . I did notice that engine seems to start with key turned to "Start" and immediately die when released to "Run" ! I tried not releasing key when it started & engine seems to want to run. Guess I'm asking is this likely an ignition switch issue??
