I posted a similar thread to this last night, it lasted less than ten minutes. With all do respect it deserves some answers before being deleted again. With our new president change, I am told that we currently have a President of NCRS that also serves as a Director of Bloomington Gold! How is that not a conflict of interest? what happened to our directors and employee code of Ethics? Once again it appears rather than answer simple questions our directors chose to delete content with no concern for freedom of speech.

First I've heard of this. Who?
Agree on your Conflict of Interest observation.

Re: Change
I ask, with all sincerity, what is the conflict? I am not minimizing your concern, I'm asking what is the conflict or, how is the conflict described in the NCRS rules?
I'm assuming the new President is Shannon Urton. I know her and I know she loves NCRS and BG. If there is a real conflict, of course, her love of both orgs would be irrelevant.
If there turns out to be no conflict, I would support her new position. It would be great to see some younger folk in the NCRS hierarchy.Kramden- Top

Re: Change
NCRS Conflict of Interest police from 2009, there's probably a newer version.

Re: Change
Thank you, Gary.
I'm going to read this several more times. After the first few passes, I'm not understanding where the conflict is. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, just that I don't see it.
Again, if there is no conflict, Shannon will be a great President for NCRS. Ours is a wonderful organization and deserves someone like her.Kramden- Top

Re: Change
I think it might be helpful to explain what actually went on yesterday. As has been the practice, the NCRS Board held a general session meeting at the Florida Regional yesterday. Since this was the Board's first meeting of 2022, the first order of business was elections and appointments of Board officers, managers, employees. That part of the meeting was run by the Board Secretary, Larry Colvin. Larry requested nominations for NCRS President. To my surprise, John Ballard nominated Shannon Urton. Larry asked if there were other nominations and Mark Tulley nominated me. No other nominations were offered. Larry then asked each Director for their vote on Shannon. Shannon's nomination was supported by John Ballard, Rick Coker, Pat Kropac, Ralph Ridge, and Shannon herself. My nomination was supported by Mark Tulley, Harry Ledgerwood, Bob Johansen, and myself. There are nine voting members on the Board and Shannon had five of them so that was that. This was a carefully planned and executed coup, there is no other word for it, I had no idea it was coming.

Re: Change
Roy,
First and foremost, I agree with you 100% that your question and post should never have been removed and definitely deserves comment. As many of you are being made aware, during the NCRS Board of Directors meeting yesterday, I was elected by the Board of Directors to serve as the President of the NCRS for a two year term. I look forward to continue to contribute to the NCRS in this new capacity. I have received many questions today in regards to holding the C3 Division Director position for Bloomington Gold. To make it clear, in all of my time of participation on the Board of Directors for the NCRS and as the Division Director for Bloomington Gold, my services for both organizations have been as a volunteer for the sole purpose to avoid any financial conflict of interest. My interest for the NCRS, Bloomington Gold, MCACN and all other Corvette organizations is solely for the betterment of this hobby.- Top

Roy voluntarily stepped down as Judging Chairman because of an NCRS Board perceived conflict of interest given his association with Barrett-Jackson.
I understand Shannon is a Team Leader for Bloomington Gold, hence these questions.
Personally, I like and respect both Mike and Shannon. Don't understand why Mike was voted out - I thought he enjoyed the job.
