I agree, since that is all we are going to get we have to make the most of what we have. And of course the vast majority of member couldn't care less about it all anyway.

The recording for the March 17th National Board meeting will not be made available.
At the conclusion of the meeting it was brought to the Board's attention that there was motion made by the past President at the June 2022 Board meeting. The motion was passed by a unanamous vote of all of the Directors not to record Board meetings.
The minutes from all General Board minutes will be posted on the NCRS website

          Mark,

if that is the case, how is it that the meeting from 1/6 was recorded? Additionally, moving forward, has the BOD decided NOT to record meetings for membership? Where is the transparency from the BOD to membership?

Thanks for the info, if that had been supplied earlier, we could have understood it all more easily.

Thanks for your response. Could have posted this in the first place.

Apparently, this June 2022 Board vote was forgotten by Shannon and other Board members in their efforts to improve transparency.

Will future open Board meetings be available for members to attend as was done in the past?

Re: Annual Board Meeting - Link?

Discussions, debates and opinions at a Board meeting need not be shared. Because they are just that discussions, debates and opinions. All I care about after the Board banters about a topic to death is what motions were made to vote upon, what motions were seconded what the results of the vote were and who voted yes or no. Most of the discussion leading up to vote deals with emotion and is useless. All the minutes need to say about a discussion is that "there was lively discussion".

I was Chapter Secretary for many years. Some of the meetings last 4 hours and my meeting minutes were typically a page and a half. Thus Larry Colvin's minutes represent the facts of the meeting, and that is all that is needed.

Remind you this was an OPEN Board meeting supposed to be available for all members. Past meetings were open for attendance by members..

Meeting was promised to be made available via recorded link.

Agree that Executive Board discussions are private, but this was an open meeting.

How we get there is just as important as where we end up.

Many members could care less - that is their choice. But many of us deeply care about this society.

Diane The recording of the January 6th meeting should not have been released to the members .
The motion in June was made by the Past President and voted on. This is also the policy that has been in place for many years
Attendance at in person Board meetings has always been open to the members and will continue to be the policy.
The Board can address the issue at a future Board meeting.

Agree 100% Dave. Some of us care about this organization and contribute greatly to it. We need to know what the BOD is doing on behalf of the NCRS.

Well, not having a video for all members to see will certainly cut down on the questions asked.

                              Roy

Mighty forgetful group that promised transparency, recorded a meeting, promised to record the next meeting, then "remembered" they voted not to record meetings a year ago.

Can't find a record of that vote in my cursory review of Board minutes.

Must have been in Executive Session where no record is kept.

                              Pretty lame. What's going on?

                              Dave

                              ADDED:

Anyone believe that if that Board meeting had been all sunshine and roses we would not have a video to watch?

Something(s) happened that us "just" members were not supposed to see/hear. My guess is Board's lawsuit against past President or some other fallout from previously recorded Board video. Although those items would all seem to be for Executive Session. May never know.

                                Dave,

Fall Restorer, page 49 right at the top of the page #4, perhaps the former president forgot that it was she who recommended that board meetings not be recorded and went ahead and recorded the meeting anyway. Executive Session minutes are kept, just not distributed to the membership.
