JD was the epitome of NCRS membership. Always willing to share his wealth of knowledge. He never missed an opportunity to help a fellow member.

        Sincere condolences to his family.

Re: John DeGregory has passed away!

I'm proud to say that John was part of the restoration of my '65 Fuelie. I started my journey with JD back in 2011 when I purchased a color print of a fuel injection unit from him. Following that, I corresponded with him about restoring my FI unit. He gave me instructions on how to ship it to him. I took many pictures and provided a detailed listing of the contents that I sent. We had been communicating by email and phone calls. When he received my package and had time to go through everything I got an email that stated "I didn't know your unit would be in a million pieces". Followed by "but thanks to your detailed pictures and description I can see what we have". Well, John took those pieces and turned them into an absolute work of art! When done, it looked just like the one in the color print that I got from him. He pointed out everything that was right or wrong with my parts and was very generous with how he treated me on the few parts I needed. He was very helpful with his information and advice. A very special man that will be missed by all.

Rest in peace John. My prayers are with you and your family. The Heaven Chapter (NCRS) now has a fuelie expert!

                Terry

Re: John DeGregory has passed away!

When I read the title of this thread, my heart sank.
John was one of the founding members of the Pittsburgh Tri-State Chapter when we met in Allegheny County's North Park in 1990. From that point on, he would volunteer his time, in many Chapter leadership positions, and generally moving the chapter forward. He would graciously give time to the chapter when his business was very busy.
                        He will be greatly missed.
Condolences to his family, and all the great friends he made.
                        May he rest in peace.

Re: John DeGregory has passed away!

Back in 1979 I met John DeGregory. He was running a restaurant named Caesars in Greensburg PA. When I asked who's Corvette was in the parking lot, he stated that it was his. We went to his office in the basement of the restaurant and started talking. In the corner of his office sat a Fuel Injection unit on a chair and on his desk was another unit in pieces.
I asked him if he ever heard of NCRS and his reply was, never! Told him I was planing on joining soon. My number is 2799 and Johns was 2852.
We remained very close friends for 45 years and I will miss him very much. I got to see my friend for the last time 2 days before he passed. RIP.

I agree George,,,, these personal reminisces from way back in the dark ages before JD became famous in classic corvette FI world are the very best.. I can just see John with FI units stashed everywhere, back when no one cared boo about them.. Norm, thank you very much for speaking up, and once again, I miss John.. may be rest in peace.
