My interpretation is that Mark's comment was not intended to be funny. He quoted a specific excerpt, of a specific post, by a specific member. He was responding to that criticism, which I agree with Mark, seemed a little disrespectful of the judges that volunteer their time to travel and attend and judge these cars at their own expense. (In fairness, Leif's criticism probably isn't directed at the judges, but at the inconsistencies in his results.)

This thread is not "technical", but entertaining enough to have enticed participation by a couple dozen members, some of whom seldom post, but have in here. It is generating enthusiasm for the Texas Regional and for the organization in general. If Gary, Don, anyone, find this post too far off target, please remove it but allow the thread to continue. Don't lock it. Let's keep it fun.

See ya'll in a couple of weeks.

        Folks

We are gettin' ready to host all of you in Frisco. Our folks have been working hard and we hope you will all enjoy yourselves. Our "Doggie Ladies" will have their auction as usual and we will have a NASCAR race car for display was well as a "One of a Kind" Chevy engine with fuel injection from our favorite Toyota dealer. We also have an Eray coming. Finally, we will have the chocolate bomb for dessert at the banquet and our Welcome Reception at the RoughRiders ballpark.

We'll make sure we leave the light on for you!

        Bob

In my opinion, NCRS should reduce the membership fee, hire professional judges while transitioning Flight to self judging.

Or---Increase fees and dues so more money in the till, charge 100 bucks for pics of their cars, 100 bucks to be judged and---judge on the prettiest car and forget about originality. That might work. That would mean I have been wrong in my approach and enthusiasm all these decades though. Hmmm. And let them park where they want on the judging floor cause I hate measuring and taping the floor!

Sorry I won't make it this year as it was only an hour from the house. Just moved from Texas to New Hampshire and getting the Vettes situated and looking for long underwear. Nancy recovering from getting hit in the head by a board and plastic surgery and I was involved in an accident, steering u-joint broke, hit a bridge and rode the steel cables outside Indy. Gonna miss seeing Y'All and the banquet. Please send the chocolate dessert Dave was always so good at selecting and has continued in his absence. Looking forward to Vinnie's pics and more comments on the TDB. Always a great time. I plan on it next year! Looking forward to the NE Chapter!

Are you sure Chevrolet even put small blocks in 1967?

                  Dave
They did have small blocks in 67 but they had big block hoods;-)

Only on Corvettes built outside of Texas. All Texas built Corvettes were big blocks.

Ahhh, so the mystery is solved. Had a friend who ordered a 68 yellow small block and immediately put a BB hood on it. Dont know anyone who had a BB and put a small block hood on it.

Temps in Frisco at 7:30 49 degrees. For Ops on Thursday, the low will 46 and the high 72. Should not have trouble with cold starts!
