Funfest this week-end

Anyone on here going to Funfest this week-end? Our club, Coles County Corvette Club, is parking Vettes on Friday and we'll be there all week-end. I was hoping to maybe put some names with faces from on here and the CF, if you're going let me know. We'll be in club parking, look for our club banner if you're out walking around. I trust you speak of the "Mid-America" Funfest in downstate Illinois? There are several "fests" going on during this time of the year, including 2 here in Florida that I know of.

How about it? Anyone going to the October 2nd VetteFest at Old Town? or how about Eckler's "Scratch and Dent" get together in Titusville on the 18th of this month?

I think he is referring to the "Hats" "Mats" and "T-shirt" crowd that drives C-5 and C-6 Corvettes.

Stu, you're right. I should have specified. Yes I was talking about the one at Mid America in Effingham.

Talking about Old Town, I'm hoping to "FINALLY" make the one in January 2011!! I was suppose to be going a couple years ago but didn't. For many on here the show in Old Town in January is one of the best.

Right. That bunch can jump into their C-5 or C-6 and drive there as on a weekend cruise. We old C-1, C-2 and C-3 crowd have to think twice before we haul out the trailer, or go brave like Jack P. is doing.

I went there several times when I lived in Illinois, and it has grown a lot since, but I have trouble just driving on the 417 to Old Town these days.

Hey Joe, many in that "Wave Bunch" crowd also have C1's and C2's. In fact you get a chance to see several "Classic Corvettes" during that week-end...........and YES most are driven!! Shooter

I guess I knew what you meant as I am familiar with the Funfest from previous years, but I thought it would be helpful to some of our newer members to clarify it.

Glad to hear you may be at the Winter Meet here in January. I'll exchange cell phone contact numbers by PM and perhaps we can hook up then. I feel so bad about this past January as I had tried to hook up with Charlie Cadenhead and, needless to say, now it's too late. Don't know what happened other than it is sometimes hard to hear the cells in a crowd.

I look forward to meeting up with you at Old Town. What part of Illinois did you live in when you were here? You talking about all the fests, especially this time of year around here in the past month or so we've had the Broom Corn Festival, Cheese festival, Bagelfest, Walleye Festival just to name a few and they have ALL hadcar shows I think!!

I will be there (Effingham) Friday and Saturday. I might not get there until very late on Friday, if I have to work. I hope the weather is better than the last time I went.

Sorry to drift away from the original question, but does anyone have any information on the Old Town Kissimmee event on the 2nd of October? I live fairly close and would like to attend.
