Re: "For sale" section thread missing

Well here is a novice idea, if the higher up are so worried about losing the money that they make off ads in tbe Driveline why not let the dealers/vendors buy advertising spots on the discussion board. This way we would have our "for Sale" section, the
vendors/dealers would have advertising space, what is the problem with doing this? I don't mind the ads.

A little promotion. Gary is one of our members that lead the charge (crawl) into the 21st century. Without him, John, and Rob, NCRS would probably have been using the antiquated discussion board software we had, the only Driveline would be snail mail, data sharing between offices would still be done with CD discs (yup, we had progressed past the floppy disc, barely.) There has been a lot of progress made, but "we've got a long ways to go baby"

Re: "For sale" section thread missing

As with most anticipated significant purchases, timing is everything including financial resources as well as availabe funding options. I for one would like to see "On-Line For Sale thread" for a host of reasons. I would be my preference do business with an member of NCRS versus other available on-line sources. Let's make this happen!

Ok guys they say we need to bring this up to our regional rep, which is going to be easy to do.
Go to the tool bar at the top of the page, click on "Contacts" then scroll down to your regional rep and click on his name. There will be another drop down for you to send him an email.
So get busy and do this if we are going to make this happen, our voices need to be heard if want to get a "For Sale" section.
By the way I just sent my regional rep my email.

Re: "For sale" section thread missing

John, most of the members of this forum have interests in several different models. Separating these into different sections and forums would GREATLY increase the time to scan and open threads in which we're interested. In addition, many aspects of the repair and restoration of C3's apply to other models as well, and this would be lost to you if you spent all of your time in a "C3" section. If you look at the title of the thread, as well as the year in the insert, you can quickly decide whether or not a thread is worth opening.

John added "post icons" for everyone to prefix their thread/posts with.

click on the post icons to sort the threads that use the post icons

I noticed the Driveline I received in the mail this week had a number of ads that included "can deliver to Kissimmee...."
The ads, of course, because of the lack of timeliness with the Driveline, came out AFTER Kissimmee. Count this as another vote for an online continuous-flow version.

4 of the 5 things I called on (I HAD to use the online version as my Driveline hasn't showed up yet) had sold. AND Ironically, because I asked, were sold WEEKS ago!

This gets to the heart of the matter... if you want to buy/sell something... oh wait, its February 2, I have to wait til the deadline March first for a mid-April publication?????

                        That is almost 75 days.

Those voices will fall on deaf ears, just like when many contact the team leads with documentation on glaring inaccuracies in the JG. Move on, it will never happen.
