Jack..Alternator isn't clocked correctly. The + cable should be at 12 o'clock. Then your wiring will be correct and the white tab will go in the hole to secure it...Bill
(That would be correct for 67 and I think for a 66.)

Looks like the dip stick is chrome, cyl numbers are written on the valve covers, and this one I am guessing at but is that long curved alternator adjustment brace correct?

Jack..Shouldn't be RED GM on heater hose. No clamp required on overflow hose. Throttle return spring should go into the throttle rod hole..Bill

                      Jack,

Shouldn't the fuel pump to carb line be chrome in '66?

Yes....my correct fuel pump failed on my 48 state trip........I put on a replacement on the road and needed to make a new line

I have rebuilt the pump and have the orignal chrome fuel line...... the question is

Use my correct rebuilt pump and line..........I will drive over 10,000 miles this summer or

Leave on the replacement pump that has gone 31,000 miles in the last 18 months......

That is the problem that I and others face when we use the car as a daily driver .....and still like to keep it as stock as possible..

I appreciate all the comments..........some of the changes I will make......others are not practical for my use of car...

Thanks for all the items. Some are practical for my car use and some are not.........

As I mentioned , I will drive my car over 10,000 miles this summer and drove 30,000 plus over the last 18 months.....

Hard to keep engine area clean......... and correct over reliable ...... is very important when the car is a daily driver.....

I will post pictures next week with some of the changes.....

Do you mean the hole in rod that the carter pin is in , keeping the rod attached to the carb throttle leaver ?

Hi, my old alt. fit perfectly with pin going in hole....I put this replacement on this fall and noticed that it did not line up right as you suggest.

Can the alt. be clocked..? Just take out the four screws and rotate it ....like you would do with a fuel pump.......

or do I need to find a proper replacement alt.

                              thanks
