Found an article in the Ohio Plain Dealer newspaper 3/27/68 that he bought a new Corvette at Blaushilds Chevrolet after doing a concert nearby.

Hard to tell from the picture but that doesn't look like a '68 based on what I can see from the door lock. It doesn't look like that door lock is a push button like the '68s.

There is info on different web sites that he had 68 & 69 Corvettes. One mentions a blue 68.

I have seen that name in some Ohio records but it was after his death. I will see if I can find out anything more on that dealer.

Blaushild Chevrolet's address was 16005 Chagrin Blvd in Shaker Hts until they moved to a new facility at the corner of Lee and Chagrin in 1989.

Mark,

A couple of my co-workers were turned off by Purple Haze cuz they thought he said "Scuse me while I kiss this guy!" I had to set them straight so that Jimi's record could remain unblemished. Did he drive the 'vette back to Seattle? I hear he lived his whole life in Seattle, but I have not tried to verify that, at all.
