The runways, especially the one with the hydralics in it, were extremely heavy. I bought a Rotary 2 post lift in 2006 and had a professional installer to put it in. At that time it cost about $500 to do that (probably more now). I should have done that this time. Good luck.

I bought mine from Derek Weaver also about five years ago. One of the best things I ever bought. I also paid them to deliver and install it as I was not about to break my back. I was surprised when only a husband and wife team showed up to install it but they knew some insider "tricks" to moving those heavy pieces around and into place as they'd done it a bazillion times.

One tip tho, go ahead and spring for TWO of the sliding scissor jacks to go with it. That way you can quickly and easily lift all four wheels off the ramps. Then you have about 85% of the utility of having both four and a two-post lift in one package. About the only thing you can't do with this setup would be to drop a transverse engine and transmission out the bottom of a front-wheel drive car, but hey, we don't work on those anyway, right? And if you go ahead and buy the taller of the lifts, you can use it to lift the body off a Corvette.

I am looking to purchase a 4 post lift and have heard good things about Bendpak lifts. Has anyone used a Bendpak 4 post lift and what do think about them.

I bought a 4 post lift from TEC (Tool and Equipment Connection) in N. Attleboro, Mass. They delivered and installed it about 6 years ago. Zero issues. Great lift at a good price. I sure don't miss crawling around on my back. My ceilings are 11 ft. Plenty of clearance to stand under it. TEC are great people to deal with. They did the setups at the National in Marlboro, Ma.

What is the floor to ceiling height measurement of your garage?
          Thanks

Neal, the ceiling is a 13 foot one, I had the garage special made to use the two 4 post lifts so I could have a 4 car garage in a 2 car garage footprint. I also have roll-up garage doors that do not interfere with the lifts up top.

            Re: quality lifts

I installed my own 7000 lb Quality lift several months ago with my wife's assistance, an engine hoist and some mover's dollys. I'm happy with it. The assembly instructions need improvement though.

They forgot to send the casters but sent them out right away after I notified them.

I had visions of rolling the lift in and out of the shop sometimes to pressure wash underneath cars. But I discovered that when the casters are installed the lift gets wider (the lever arms on the casters stick out quite a bit) and would not fit through the garage door opening.

Phil, couldn't tell from your post or video which brand lift you have: Direct or Rotary's "Revolution" series.
