C2 value question: auto or 4spd?

I'm interested in members' opinions about the value and demand of C2's with 4 spd vs. automatic trannys. How does the value and demand compare between two otherwise equal cars but one has a 4 spd and the other an automatic?

I have been in the maket for a c2 for a few weeks. It appears that 4 speeds are more expensive and more desirable than the automatic.

    Thanks

            Try this Corvette Price Calculator

I plugged in a '66 convertible, "great driver" condition, (base value $26,400), then added M35 (option added $1000); M20 wide ratio added $1000, close ratio added $2500, M22 added $5000. Options are valued separately, independent of whether permitted with other options on the dealer order form.

Surprisingly, Positraction was not on the select list.

Save your money and buy a PG, if you must have a stick pull the very valuable PG and put in a stick till your knees go bad. Really everything is the same in these cars the conversion is no big deal I've seen real nice and highly optioned PG cars go for lots less than there stick counterparts. Also if you find a nice original PG car the chances of it being driven hard and put away wet are much less than a stick car. Just my 2 cents.

I take it you like your PG's? How is the resale on a PG? I'm looking at a C2 with PG 327/300 with A/C. Wasn't sure how strong the engine would be?? Also wonder about the resale.

The 327/300 is a really good engine and the performance with the powerglide will be better than might think. Having a A/C C2 to enjoy warm/hot weather driving is great, wish I had mine to drive again.

I have a 327/300 4spd. and have driven Kevin's car. I was very surprised of its strong performance. Once I got used to leaving my left foot on the floor I really enjoyed the car. I think PG cars will be just as desireable as 4spds as we age.
