Fun to read the stories , I've had many Corvettes but as most know I settled on the 55, I love the body look and having a V8 makes it easy if you brake down on the road locating parts because we drive it even gone around the country many times. It's not that rare to see a 56 up Corvette years on the road in our travels. We know it's not the most comparable year to drive having the comfort a C2 has but when was the last time you saw an original 55 on the road ? We've learned how to enjoy the 55 even when it rains.
I never owned or drove a car that gets the attention the 55 does from people that like it even when they don't know what it is.Corvette people even NCRS members ask why we drive it // we get questions like ( you know how rare that is, the money it's worth, if it gets hit)
You cant put a value on the great times we had over the last 30 years we owned it, remember you get one trip in life so enjoy!

1958 4 speed fuel injection, they where the ones that always beat my 57 when they first came out.the 57 was only a 245 h.p. slush box,so a little less competion.

Roy, it's hard to beat your Corvette.....what a gorgeous ride.
Love the '62's.......will love mine a lot more when it's not the beautiful little basket case it is now.

              #9 LeMans racer, 1967 L88

I saw it in person at Bloomington this year with Dick Guldstrand driving.

L88 through side pipes is something I'll never forget.

Plus, it's the only midyear to have run at LeMans.

Of course '57! Is something about its stance and simplicity of body curves that transend time...

'59 or '60. My first one was a '59, white with a frost blue interior and two wide blue stripes running front to rear - what a car! Though I'm lucky enough to have a '61 at present, I'm always looking to recapture what I once had and what, to me, epitomizes the Corvette image.

I'd have to pick the 67 BB as well, But i'll settle for my 72 LS-5 vert for now.

                      Hello Roy;

Have always considered '55 as the year Chevrolet came to be the cars to collect and respect. The V8 and independent suspension being the key factors.

Corvettes being the epitome of 1955 made/make it the most desirable and collectable. Could not afford same back in the day.

Have almost always had a '55 Nomad in the garage to demonstrate my opinion of Chevrolet coming into its own that year.

Would like to have quality 1955 Corvette to work on and admire.

                      Always enjoy your posts.
                      Thanks, Ray

                          Hi Roy,
A new 58 was the first Corvette I really noticed and got close to. It belonged to a college friend of my brother. I didn't get a ride. I was only a little 14 year old kid.
My 71 is my favorite because it's my 'one and only'.
                          Regards,

I like them all, but I am a huge fan of my 63 coupe. I have always had a soft spot for a 69 L88 coupe too.

For me it was a 1962. that was when I used to watch Gerry Brownrout from Buffalo, NY race his Black with checker board coves `61 and `62 Corvettes race at Mosport, Ontario.
                              I bought our `62 in 1988.

I've done seven of them over the last 42 years, and I should have kept the '57 I sold five years ago; also shoulda kept the '65 327/365 A/C Tanker, and....and.....
