My dad got his '59 in 1961 on the same date I was born 3 yrs. after, we still own the car. Bought my '74 in 1983 when I was 18, still have. Still own the '85 we bought in 1986. The planets are still line!

our first was the white 57 FI that dennis clark and i drag raced years ago. bought it in 1970 for $950.its a Duntov car that turns high 12's with stock suspension. the block is a 548. the next one came 6 months later, the black 57 FI powerglide that was on the cover of the Restorer 2 years ago. got that one for $450 bucks.it duntov'd in 2009 and i consider it the fastest "stock" 250 hp powerglide on the planet. the next was a 54 in 1971 for $1400. our daughter drove it from maryland to Bend oregon in late 80's and got the first Folz award. the next was a 20K mile 65 FI for $650 that was purchased in '73.its still showing 20K miles. the next was a 64 365 AC out of calif for $1450, that one also in '73. still have all five of those babies and they are all turn key vehicles with the exception of the 65. . also still have several more but am cleaning house. the white 57 FI, first in, will be last out. mike

We purchased our 62 FI car in October 1966 with 36,000 miles. Still have it and just turned 48,000 miles.

It is nice to read peoples stories about them & their Corvettes. Hope it will lighten up this fourm from the for sale thread. Remember this it supposed to be FUN.

I agree with Ken; this is better than the "for sale" on going babble, but I digress...
Got my '61 Fawn/Fawn fuelie from a collection in '86 where it sit with 9020 miles on it...yah, they are out there. FUN FUN FUN

I bought my 54 in March, 1961 - 52 years ago.

I bought my 57 in May, 1971 - 43 years ago.

I never sell anything - just buy and keep

I bought my 62 at age 19 in 1969 I traded for a car I had $350.00 in . my 1970 in 1974 I think for $2100.00 and my 65 BB in 1981 for $750.00 I also "had" a 54 ,another 62, 66 BB, 75, & a 96LT4 .My 62 will be used to drive when my ashes are dumped out while driving on the river road .

I bought my current 62 in 1990.
Bought my first Corvette a 58 in 1962, but it is long gone.
My buddy bought his 61 in 1963 and still drives a lot.

I met a girl a few years ago who was given a new 1958 Corvette on her birthday, yes actually on her date of birth in 1958.
It's a long story.

Good post Ken! I bought my '57 from our friend Max Nov. 21, 1964 at noon. (Tell us about the ZR-1 you got from him!) I ordered my '77 L-82/FE7 August 6, 1976 at noon and my Dad and I spec'd out the '78 SA and ordered it Sept. 1977. All are still in the garage.

I can't recall his name right now but remember the fellow who bought the black/silver with red interior '57 FI new and I believe moved to FL years ago? Still had the car and ususally had a sign in it stating "No it is not for sale".

A Corvette is like a dog---keep 'em forever.

I factory-ordered and took delivery of my 1969 on September 30, 1969. I still have it 43 years later.

I bet most of us, no matter if we bought them used, off the dealer floor/lot, or ordered them new remember much detail about that special experience --- and the first time we saw them.

Bought my 66 427 Roadster in spring of 1974 = 39 years

Bought my 80 spring of 1982= 31 Years 348,000 miles still drive it spring thru fall, original powertrain never been apart!! GREAT CAR!!

bought 69 Camaro ss 396/375 fall of 71 = 42 years
