THANKS GUYS It's nice to hear these stories especially after spending a day at the BJ auction. People flipping Corvettes they bought 3 auctions ago to make money & others just buying them because they want to be on TV & impress the trophy wife. Most wouldn't know how to get the headlights up on a C-2. Too many people with too much money. These stories are a breadth of fresh air.

I got out of the Army in March of '72 and bought a non-original motor '63 roadster for $1,400 that summer. Restored that and traded it in March of 1977 for our '66 Nassau Blue coupe. Coming up on 37 years of ownership of that coupe.

Ken Bought my '71 on June 8, 1972, San Bernardino, CA. Got my Duntov with it July 4, 2012, San Diego, CA. Have driven the '71 cross country 6 times while in the service. My 2003 rolled of the line April 24, 2003 and picked it up at the museum a few days later. Bob

I purchased my 1966 in 1967. The original owner ordered it from Wink Chevrolet in Michigan. He and his father picked the car up at the factory. He sold it to enlist in the military. It now has 44K miles, original paint, top, and interior. Ken

We took delivery of our 2003 50th Anniversary at NCM on Jan 2, 2003.

It's 44 years old now. However, this thread is an old one that got "revived". I think when I made the original post the car was 43 years old.

I bought my first car, a 1960 Corvette in 1980 upon graduating from nursing school. 34 years later I still own and drive her frequently. On to one of my favorite sayings "Men will come and go, but Corvettes are FOREVER!

Karen and I drove the 76 from Ed Rinke's Chevrolet on Sept. 1, 1976 which means we have owned it for over 37 years. Both of our boys were brought home from the hospital in it when they were born (yes, we should have used a car seat), and the oldest drove it in his wedding. Hopefully it will be passed down to one of the grandchildren.

The black/black 1967 435 coupe I sold to help pay for my house in Az. was bought at Ed Rinke's. BTW We all grew up without car seats & bike helmets & made it.

Our lives seem to have crossed beyond Ed Rinke's Chevrolet on Detroit. Karen and I are in the process of purchasing a home in Tucson to be near the grand babies. It's a small world.

Bought my 65 roadster June of 1975 still have it
Bought 1971 Coupe in 2008 from my older brother who owned it for 25+ years sold it to my younger brother in 2012 he is giving it to his son next year
